Resume a life, move records between devices, and distinguish local summaries, the Life Album and public sharing.

Where is progress saved? Do I need an account?

This independent browser edition saves the current life in this browser’s site storage and browser profile, without an account. Once play starts, advancing years and main actions update the save. A birth card alone, before you press “Start this life”, is not a saved playable session.

Return to the home page and choose to continue. A resumed life starts paused: resume playback to advance. Signing into the same account does not sync an unfinished life. Phone browsers, desktop browsers and separate browser profiles have separate local records.

How do local history, the album and the memorial differ?

  • Current save: the active life and its existing events, which can be continued in this browser. This is not a set of multiple save slots.
  • Free history: summaries, basic details and saved messages for the latest 30 finished lives. It does not retain every complete event timeline or let you resume a finished life.
  • Account Life Album: an optional Memories Pass feature for viewing successfully uploaded finished lives and their event records, including from another device signed into the same account.
  • Public memorial: fictional summaries and optional messages you deliberately publish for other visitors. It is not a private backup or a way to restore a playable save.

These stores serve different purposes. Signing in is not confirmation that a backup was made.

How do I back up or change devices?

  1. Open “Move records” in the game footer on the source device. Copy the code or save the 80yi-records.txt file. The play screen has no footer; pause, open the home page in another tab of the same browser to export, and avoid continuing both tabs.
  2. Keep the backup somewhere you can retrieve it. It includes the current life, settings and local history. The code is not encrypted storage; do not publish it, particularly if you wrote private notes.
  3. Open this same site on the destination device. Export its existing records first, then paste the source code or choose the backup file in “Move records”.
  4. Importing replaces the destination’s current life, settings and history; it does not merge them. After the page reloads, check the character and age before continuing.

A transfer does not move account albums, purchase entitlement or public memorial posts. Only transfer codes or files exported by this game can be imported. Keep only one actively played tab to avoid older state overwriting newer progress.

Can a missing save be recovered?

First check the domain, browser and browser profile, and whether you used a private window. Do not start by clearing site data or importing another record over it. If you have a transfer backup, import it as above. An ended life in your account album can be read, but cannot restore a playable session.

Closing a private window, clearing site data, browser storage cleanup, or deliberately quitting or discarding a life can remove local progress. Without a usable backup, this site has no server recovery feature for free local saves. Signing in again or buying a pass cannot reconstruct them.

Why is my album empty after buying a pass?

Outside classroom mode, the ending page attempts an upload when you are signed in with an active pass. Confirm the save-success message before opening the album. Buying a pass does not backfill earlier free history or sync an unfinished life. Check the purchase screen for the current price and entitlement.

If saving fails, keep the ending page open, copy the summary and note the error. There is currently no manual upload-retry button. Do not rely on refreshing to retry: it can lose the full timeline that has not uploaded. The album currently allows up to 2,000 lives, with at most the latest 1,500 events per upload and a per-record size limit. Storage is not unlimited. See troubleshooting.

Can I edit or withdraw a public post?

Publishing is optional. After a successful post, the ending page locks that message field; there is currently no player-facing edit or delete control. If personal information was posted accidentally, contact support with the public post link and a removal request, without repeating sensitive details. Use the memorial’s report control for inappropriate content.
